About me
Hi, I'm Leanne
I'm a qualified CBT psychotherapist and author, based in Northwich. I help people get to the root of anxiety, people pleasing and perfectionism, rather than spending their lives managing the symptoms. And I do this work because I have lived it myself.
Why I do this work
I know what it is like to look as though you are coping on the outside, and feel completely different underneath. For years I lived with anxiety, worry and low moods, and I assumed that was simply who I was. A worrier. A people pleaser. Someone who set impossibly high standards and never quite felt good enough.
What I did not understand back then was how my own mind worked, or why I kept treating myself the way I did. Our education system rarely teaches us any of this. When I finally began to understand it, everything started to change, and I realised how much unnecessary suffering I might have been spared if someone had shown me sooner.
That is what led me to train as a CBT Psychotherapist. I wanted to help other people reach that same understanding, without waiting as long as I did.
My aim is not to hand you a set of coping techniques and send you on your way. It is to help you understand yourself so well that you become your own therapist, so the changes we make together stay with you for good.
The root, not the symptoms
People pleasing, perfectionism and anxiety are not personality traits, and they are not the real problem. They are protective patterns, strategies you learned in order to feel safe, and they almost always grow from beliefs about your own worth that formed a long time ago.
This is why simply managing the symptoms rarely works for long. If we want change that lasts, we have to go to the root.
The sponge cake
Picture your self-worth as the sponge base of a cake. Your relationships, your career, your achievements are the toppings. When the base is solid, everything sits happily on top. When the base is damaged, no amount of topping will hold it together. Most people spend years perfecting the toppings. My work is with the sponge.
My training
I am a qualified CBT Psychotherapist and Cognitive Behavioural Coach, and the author of Awaken Your Worth. My work draws on years of clinical practice, proper training, and lived experience of the very things I help people with.

Where to start
If any of this sounds like you, there are a few ways we can begin. Most people start with a free consultation call, so we can talk things through with no pressure either way.
Book a free consultation call★★★★★I've lived with anxiety all my life and spent 28 years on Prozac, but through Leanne's patience, understanding and steady guidance I've reached a place I never imagined. I'm now not taking any medication and stepping forward into a new life, with a clear understanding of where my anxiety began. — Paul, five star Google review
You have spent long enough figuring this out on your own.
Booking a call is the hardest part. Everything after that, we do together, and you will not be doing it alone.
